Because I've just passed the halfway mark. The end of the coated, through the fluorescent and metallic, and on to the uncoated. The eagle eyed amongst you may spot that there appears to be a gap: and it's probable that one or two sheets are missing (especially the metallics, as they were heavily used). Thus sheet 81 ends with 842C and sheet 82 begins with 871C.
Mind you, I bet none of you spotted the duplication of sheets 28 and 29. Twenty five years of working for the English Tourist Board meant that Reflex Blue was used almost on a daily basis. So sheet 29 is a later addition to the book (you used to be able to buy individual sheets - don't know if you still can?).
Andrew asks if there are any particular memories associated with certain colours. Well, what astounds me is just how many colour chips are missing from this book. It had a good 20 years of active service, during which time I'd probably had an equal number of people working alongside me. So not all the choices would have been made by me personally.
Mind you, Pantone 820C on sheet 78 does bring back some rather alarming reminders of certain women architects. But that's a story for another day (perhaps).
