I see hyphens everywhere at the moment. I'm currently working on something where the author has a particular fondness for that thing where a colon simply isn't enough, so let's stick a hyphen onto it as well.
Also, I noticed a case of inappropriate em-dashery in the background of The Deer Hunter the other day. Ruined the scene completely.

It looks like a half attempt at justifying the ragged right red type. It's even worse at ten times the size on the adverts in the Undergound.
