There's an interesting article by Simon Garfield in today's Guardian about IKEA dropping Futura in favour of Verdana. You should read it.

Futura was Stanley Kubirk's favourite font. Good enough for Stan, good enough for me.....can't any cultural providers of his calibre valorising verdana.....
