while the cat's away...
As of next Monday, I'm taking a two-week blog break. You know, recharge the batteries - that sort of thing.
But I wouldn't want to leave you with absolutely nothing to read or smile about while I'm away. Oh no.
So I've only gone and assembled a cracking hot international team to cover for me while I'm away. Not only that, but I've given them a complete free hand to do whatever they want (which maybe calls to mind the expression 'is that a threat or a promise?').
Should be interesting, eh?
And now, without further ado, let me introduce you to the team:
Team member #1: Elle Adams
(I'm guessing, the youngest of the fair four) Elle has just completed a foundation course at the London College of Communication and is now in the process of moving to Scotland where she's just about to embark upon a degree course in graphic design at Edinburgh College of Art.
Welcome aboard, Elle.
Team member #2: Kevin McCauley
I especially wanted this team to be international, so now we head on over the water to the Big Apple where we find Kevin. Kevin graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2006, moved to New York, and now works in the design studio of advertising agency Pedone Inc.
Likewise, welcome Kevin.
Team member #3: William van Giessan
And I really did especially want a Dutch component to this team: most specifically because the Dutch can teach us all a thing or two when it comes to approaching design from the left field. So William, and maybe his business partner Joost, will add the all-important European perspective to the mix. William and Joost run the design group O.K. PARKING which is based in Arnhem.
Great to have you signed up, William (and maybe Joost as well).
Team member #4: Mike Reed
And last, but not least, is the one who's not a designer - because Mike is a wizard with words, is a freelance copywriter, and runs his own company Reedwords. I've asked Mike if he will assume the somewhat vague responsibility of 'editor' - but actually, Mike's expressed the role far more clearly as being an extra resource for Elle, Kevin and William: on hand if needed. Oh, and he tells me that he might not be able to resist the temptation of making a post or two himself.
So, that should be a corker of a fortnight, shouldn't it?
That looks good.
