the art of letter writing - compare and contrast

Big thanks to Ben for pointing me towards Craig Oldham's hand.written.letter.project.

A really nice little project from Craig. And interesting to see how designers respond to the request. But it's even more interesting (I think) to compare and contrast with John Dowling's collection of 'we'll keep your details on file' letters.

So the response that you get depends upon what you're asking for in the first place. Or the message is the medium, perhaps.

We're always happy to respond creatively to correspondence that warrants it. Unfortunately we get so many cv's I wouldn't have time to do any design work if I responded creatively to all of those! However I'd be happy to send you whatever you want (within reason!). And not by email. As an aside - I'm amazed someone kept my letter from 1995.
Kind regards, Phil Carter

1995 – it feels just like yesterday.
